BURLINGTON LIONS CLUB COMMUNITY SERVICE BENEFITS CHILDREN

The Burlington Lions Club recently celebrated with the Main Street Community Foundation and the awarding of $3,000 in scholarships at a reception held at the Bristol Public Library. Scholarships were awarded to three (3) Lewis Mills High School student graduates from scholarship fund established by Burlington Lions Club at the foundation. Scholarships are available annually to students from the town of Burlington. These scholarships are awarded based on community service, financial need and academic success, but not necessarily the top academic students.

According Jim Hunt, President of the Burlington Lions Club, these awards demonstrate the Club’s commitment to the children of Burlington and their desire to continue their academics to improve their lives and those of their community. The members of the club participate in several fundraisers and activities throughout the year to enable them to serve the needs of the Burlington Community.
